Tails of Maggie & Katie: Living alone.... It is dark. Very dark

Living alone.... It is dark. Very dark

by B. A. Brown

I have difficulty breathing. A heavy weight is upon my chest. Heart attack? Pneumonia? Should I panic?

Experimentally, I wriggle my toes. Working. I move my fingers about.Working. No pain down left arm -- isn't that a sign of a heart attack?

I cannot see anything. No perception of light or dark.
>
A strange fluttery feel upon my face. Maybe some crawly-skin feeling about my neck

Perhaps a stroke? That would explain the blindness.

I try some of the large muscle groups.

I am possessed of all my limbs and digits.

But I still cannot move. Think~! Paralysis, what is paralysis a symptom of?
<
Again - maybe a stroke. Blindness, paralysis, How on earth will I summon
help?

Tails of Maggie & Katie: A Strange Occurrence

Tails of Maggie & Katie: A Strange Occurrence

by B. A. Brown

Hmmm...

We have a bag of peanut butter flavored dog biscuits.

We have a bag of beef basted dog biscuits.

Katie loves the beef-basted.

Maggie loves the peanut butter ones.

The bags are the same size. The peanut butter ones are actually smaller than the beef ones; as they are sold by weight, one presumes that there would be a few additional peanut butter ones in the bag.

Each dog gets ONE of her favorite kind in the morning, and ONE after dinner.

I usually keep the bags atop the washing machine.

Tails of Maggie & Katie: Need a couple of extra dogs?

Tails of Maggie & Katie: Need a couple of extra dogs?

by B. A. Brown

I have two I would be glad to ship to you. In a styrofoam box, with dry ice to ensure freshness.

Nice and early this a.m. - before the sun was up -- I woke to the ominous sounds of a dog barfing.

I turned on the light (I now know better than to just leap out of bed; Chester used to come and wake me up AFTER he had barfed, customarily right next to the bed. Apparently he felt it important that I know, but not important enough to tell me prior to the event.).

Nothing untoward in view.

I get up, turn on the hall light, look around. Nothing yet.

I cross to the lamp in the living room, turn it on.

Oh. There it is.

Someone has barfed on the couch. Not only that, but they have prepared the landing area prior to ejection. They have carefully removed the sheets to expose the bare upholstery first.

Tails of Maggie & Katie: Educational TV? pfui

Tails of Maggie & Katie: Educational TV? pfui

by B. A. Brown

The Eukanuba Dog Show was less than educational and, if you judge by the interest evinced by the canine members of my household, incredibly boring.

I made them watch. They kept nodding off.

I pointed with awe at the screen: "LOOK! That dog called 911 and saved her Mom's life!"

They raised their heads for a brief moment, and then dropped back down, soon snoring.
